I can't find my Pascha Book. Yes, everyone wail with me. We have turned the house upside down. We found the cover--but not the book.

If you don't know what the Pascha Book is, let me explain. It is a 50 lb. volume of thrillingness. It is (nearly) every prayer and reading for Holy Week in three languages crammed into one hardcover book. And MY Pascha Book? It has Post-It notes from the past three years of contemplations while the Psalms are chanted.

We looked in all the bookshelves. We looked in a dozen boxes. We opened the storage room (and by we in this sentence I mean Abouna... in the cold, in the middle of the night, after a seven hour service streak) and pulled out all the boxes and read all the labels and found the cover--yes, I'm so hysterical I'm repeating myself--but not the book.

I have ordered more copies (Intentionally plural! I can't take the chance this ever happens to me again). This is what I get for moving + being a generally absent-minded person. WHAT DID I DO WITH IT?

[Ya Anba Wanis! Ya Qedees Abu Nofer!]

Update: My daughter had these words of wisdom for me: "Mom, you know your Holy Week book? What you can do--since you can't find it? You can say whatever the deacons say. Whatever the deacons say, just say it with them."
