We arm our enemies, then we lament as they turn on us.
We arm them when we don't pray.
We arm them when we don't care for the poor.
We arm them when we ignore the helpless.
We arm them when we indulge the self.
We arm them when we harbor grudges against one another.
We arm them when we label an "other."
We arm them when we're negligent in our fasts.
We arm them when we keep one foot in the world.
We arm them when we are afraid to speak up.
We arm them when we tuck our God away for the sake of "peace."
We arm them when we don't know our faith.
We arm them when we don't learn the answers to important questions.
We arm them when we lose our tempers.
We arm them when we hide our tears.
We arm them when we don't submit to one another in love.
Pray. Care for the poor. Lift the fallen. Deny the self. Forgive. Embrace. Fast. Find passion. Speak up. Carry Christ into the world. Know your faith. Learn the answers. In your anger, do not sin. His strength is made perfect in weakness. Love.

We arm our enemies.... It's easy to do! We even fill up the ammunition for them free of charge.... Why is it so hard to keep doing the right things.... saying the right things.... Because of our human nature we get so lost and the true essence is lost as to why we are here... We all keep banging into each other.... It's so much mental, emotional, and physical work however we need the Lord to proceed to carry us through our daily tribulations... This post is painfully true... It is up to each one of us to do the work the Lord set before us.. Without him we are weak, hopeless, and tortured in this singe minded world we have created were the Lord has been subtracted out of the equation...
ReplyDeleteSo so true... But He is so merciful and able to save us, even from the bottom of pits we ourselves have dug, and He welcomes us with a warm embrace and a fresh, clean robe
